Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula has claimed that the bullet that was fired in Kiminini during a funeral was aimed at assassinating him. He claims that he saw the policeman who shot and he said that it was aimed at him.
“I saw the police who shot the MCA and he was aiming at us. I am perturbed that the bullet was meant for me,” Wetang’ula alleged.
The bullet that hit Kapomboi Ben Wanjala who echoed the sentiments of the FORD Kenya leader saying that it missed him by a whisker.
“The bullet which shot me was meant for Wetang’ula, it missed him by a whisker,” Benson Wanjala said.

He is currently being treated at the Mt Elgon hospital in Kitale. Police in Bungoma have said that they are investigating the claims by the Moses Wetangula and that they have already summoned MP Enoch Kibunguchy on the remarks he made about attempts on his life by his political opponents
His body guard was shot dead in Kakamega by unknown assailants.
