A suspect in the murder of IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando has been released by the High Court citing lack of sufficient evidence to detain him.

Judge James Wakiaga set Andrew Kiprotich, an accountant at Ken Gen free but ordered him to report to the Director of Criminal Investigations on 2 October 2017.

While making the ruling, Judge Wakiaga said the police did not have enough proof tying him to the murder of the late Msando.

The suspect will collect his personal effects from Muthaiga police station where he was being held.

A 17 year old girl was arrested with a phone that the police said had been used to send the late IEBC manager threatening messages.

She was arrested at her aunt’s house in Awendo, Migori county.

Msando was laid to rest on August 29 at his home in Ugenya.
