James Mugo Ndichu popularly known as fake doctor Mugo Wairimu is back and this time around he is “stronger, candid, daring and fearless.”
In an expose by NTV’s investigative journalist Dennis Okari, the quack doctor is operating under a new name in a completely different location.
Nabbed in 2015 in Nairobi’s Zimmerman area, the Prestige Health Centre then owner is now in Kayole. He has opened two clinics and by the time of airing the Quack Clinic expose on Monday night, the fake doctor was well on his way to opening his third clinic.
In the expose, the ‘doctor’ admitted to being untouchable even by the police. In 2015, he was released due to lack of forensic evidence and witnesses.
But one of his victims identified as Mitchelle Brenda has come forward highlighting her plight in the hands of Mugo who has at least 7 Facebook accounts, all driving a particular agenda.
Brenda is disappointed by the Kenya justice system. She reported the case at Kasarani Police Station but was turned away “for lack of enough evidence.”
“When I reported at Kasarani I was treated very badly and told that I didn’t have enough evidence, luckily I kept my O.B number…” she said in one of her posts.
She was sexually assaulted by Mugo in November 2014 on a Saturday. Since then she has been in and out of Milimani Law Courts till January this year. According to her, the prosecutor handling the case Jacinta Nyamosi who has since been transferred to Kisumu, went silent and on numerous occasions fed her “blueticks” on WhatsApp.
In one of their conversations sometime in July, Brenda sought to find out how far along the DPP’s office had gone with her case. Her request was again met with silence.
Again, Brenda contacted the inspector in-charge of the case identified as Andolo Munga. Munga on his part said that the case would be concluded by June/July this year.
“The inspector who was handling the case, last we spoke he told me the last two suspects were to be done by June and July this year, when I made follow ups, I was meted with silence,” she told Kahawa Tungu.
She recounts the day’s events saying that when she came to she was without her underwear and screams from her then boyfriend.
Her story is just like so many others who were featured in the expose. One woman told Okari that the fake doctor admitted to sexually abusing her after sedating her with an unknown drug.
His former employee, who also sought justice for the many women who were violated by Mugo who as seen in the expose is almost always high on a controlled drug and marijuana, was denied justice after the Githurai chief asked her for a bribe so as to take up the case.
She gave up the fight when she could not raise the money required to bribe those in authority. She told NTV that Mugo took advantage of his victims in the x-ray room but is now using the theatre.
“His X-ray room is very dark, it is where he used to sleep with the patients, nowadays it is in his theatre room where he does the terrible acts on the female patients,” stated the former employee,” she stated.

In one of the most disgusting moments caught on camera, the quack doctor who apparently schooled at the University of Nairobi as a nurse, is seen kissing one of his patients while another tries to remove a retained placenta.
Kissing, he told her, helps in relieving pain.
He now operates an unlicensed clinic under the name Millan Health Care which is allegedly owned by his friend Elijah Mathaiya.
Mathaiya, as exposed by Okari, is one of Mugo’s emergency contacts and is now covering up for the doctor who Kahawa Tungu understands is on the run.
Detectives have launched a manhunt for Mugo in Kayole at Nyama Villa stage. Here, he runs a 24-hour health service, 7 days a week and has turned his home into a clinic but for female patients only.
