Murder Suspect Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu To Remain In Custody For 10 Days Pending Investigations

The court has ordered that journalist Jacque Maribe’s fiance, Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu be detained at Muthaiga police station pending investigations.
His lawyers had claimed that he needed medical attention on the gun shot wounds.
The police had asked the court to hold the ‘bouncer’ for more than the legally stipulated 24 hours in order to gather more evidence on the case.
Jowie was arrested on Tuesday after he was positively identified by the late Monica Kimani’s neighbour, a Lebanese national only identified as Owen as one of the people present on the day she was murdered.
Police say that his phone signal places him at Luciane Apartments, where the deceased resided, on the fateful day.
Reports indicate that Jowie presented fake documents to the security guards at Luciane apartments in Kilimani, They belonged to one Dominic.
After getting to the Interior Designer’s A8 apartment he poured himself a glass of wine and was constantly on the phone.

He is said to have left her home at around 2 AM and his phone was switched off for the better part of Thursday.
It was also established that Jowie and Monica were both students at the Kenya polytechnic in2012 but had lost touch. Monica’s brother denied that the two were romantically involved.
