The national drama and film festivals were on Friday briefly disrupted after a police officer’s dead body was discovered in a car.

The deceased who has been identified as Susan Njambi and was attached to the Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) was found dead by her colleagues at Kibabii University where the festival is still on going.

Confirming the incident was Bungoma South OCPD Wilson Nanga who noted that they have launched investigations into the matter.

“We are aware of the death and our officers are on the ground to investigate if there was foul play in the death of our officer,” Mr Nanga said.

According to Nanga, Njambi lit a candle as she went to sleep in the car only for fellow officers to find her dead.

Her remains were taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary.

At least Sh2 billion will be spent throughout the festival which ends on April 12.
