Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi Explains Why President Kenyatta Did Not Show Up For IEBC Meeting

Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi on Tuesday explained to Kenyans online why President Uhuru Kenyatta was a no show at the IEBC meeting at the BOMAS of Kenya.

According to Mr Ngunyi, the President does not show up at the IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati’s pleasure, instead Chebukati goes to Uhuru.

”As President, Uhuru does not go to Chebukati. Chebukati goes to Uhuru. If dialogue is not at the State House, Uhuru will not show. That simple!” he said.

The Jubilee party leader was expected to at the joint meeting with NASA and the electoral body, but instead had his deputy, William Ruto sit in on his behalf.

Also present was Raila Odinga and his co-principals; Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.

According to NASA pointman, James Orengo, the commission did not meet their ‘irreducible minimum’ requirements.

The commission has however maintained that the meeting was a success and will make public the agreements.
