Tanzania’s MV Nyerere Ferry Capsizes With Hundreds Of Passengers On Board
Tanzania’s MV Nyerere ferry plying Bugorora-Ukala Island route in Lake Victoria has capsized.
On board were over 100 passengers when the ferry went down near Ukara Island.
In a statement, the Tanzanian government has indicated that rescue operations are ongoing.
By 10 pm Thursday when the rescue operations were called off, 42 people had been confirmed dead.
