Nairobi Expressway Section to Close From Saturday to Monday
A section of the Nairobi Expressway will be temporarily closed over the weekend to allow for maintenance and construction works.
Moja Expressway Company, in a statement issued on Friday, September 18, 2026, notified motorists travelling from the James Gichuru Junction towards Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) of the planned works.
The company said the maintenance and construction works will be carried out along the elevated overpass deck from Saturday, September 19, at 8pm to Monday, September 21, at 12pm.
During the closure, motorists heading to the CBD and seeking to access the Nairobi Expressway Westlands Entrance have been advised not to use the elevated overpass deck.
Instead, they should use the lower A8 road along Waiyaki Way during the period.
“Drivers are urged to exercise caution and follow the instructions of traffic marshals stationed along the route,” Moja Expressway said.
