narokA Jubilee Narok County Assembly member has accused his opponent in the August 8 polls of using witchcraft to clinch the seat.

Former Olposimoru MCA Wilson Masikonde, has filed a petition seeking to overturn the victory of Kikaet Kuyo.

Masikonde claims that on the last day of campaigns, Kuyo sought the services of four wizards who slaughtered a Columbus monkey and spread its intestines in four key polling stations in a bid to sway his supporters.

In his petition he identifies Olposimoru, Olemeisi, Shabaltarakwa, and Kamurar as the polling stations where the rituals were performed.

“They tied the skin of the monkey on his (Kuyo’s) waist after which he started greeting and hugging voters.

Mysteriously, all the voters who got in contact with him voted in his favour. The plan was to confuse voters,” he alleges.

Masikonde was especially taken aback when one of his staunch supporters supported the ODM ward representative.

The former MCA who served as the leader of majority in the county assembly said that as a result of the wizardry, he mysteriously lost all contacts in his phone book and was unable to contact his agents.

“I woke up in the morning of August 4 only to realise my phone’s contact list was blank. As a result, I was unable to respond to urgent calls or get in touch with my supporters and agents,” he said in his affidavit.

He also alleged that the rituals performed affected his supporters so bad that a lorry ferrying some of them strangely overturned, injuring seven people.

The Narok High Court is yet to set the hearing date.
