NASA leader Raila Odinga will be sworn in on November 28, same day President Uhuru Kenyatta will be taking oath of office at the Kasarani stadium.

The move which some opposition leaders are opposed to is under deliberations and will be communicated on Wednesday.

Former Machakos Senator, Johnston Muthama told the Star ‘we are going ahead with the swearing-in, as planned.’

Kenyatta’s election was on Monday upheld by a six judge bench that unanimously ruled that the three petitions filed by Harun Mwau, Njonjo Mue and Khelef Khalifa be dismissed as having lacked merit.

But according to Odinga’s adviser, Salim Lone, the opposition’s stand on Uhuru’s government being ‘illegitimate’ had not changed as the Supreme Court decision was ‘taken under duress.’

Lone, in a statement said that they (NASA) sympathize with the court claiming it acted under duress.

The former Prime Minister is yet to directly react to the Supreme Court’s decision and is reportedly in Zanzibar after the unrest that took place on Sunday in Ruaraka forced him out of the country according to his Aides.

”The unrest pushed Mr Odinga out of the country. He left Kenya on Sunday night. He is in Zanzibar, off the coast of mainland Tanzania,” Lone told New York Times.

The opposition, will according to the Communications Director ODM party, Philip Etale await the next course of action that is the People’s Assemblies.

But a Kitui High Court Judge on Monday barred county assemblies from passing or implementing motions on the formation of the People’s Assemblies.

“An order is hereby issued restraining the 4th – 50th respondents and the members of the county assemblies from constituting a special college for the appointment of election members, delegations and observers of the People’s Assembly,” Judge Lilian Mutende ruled.
