NASA MPs To Skip Parliamentary Meetings On Ousting Defiant Jubilee Leaders

nasaNASA has asked it’s members in four parliamentary committees to skip meetings taking place on Tuesday where Jubilee is seeking to de-whip four of its member.

The minority chief whip, Junet Mohamed asked opposition members in the committees to not participate in the said meetings as they were ‘unconstitutional.’

The Suna East MP said that the Jubilee government was trying to ‘micromanage parliament’ by ousting the four; Alfred Keter, Silas Tiren, David Bowen and Alex Kosgey.

In a letter to the Labour and Social Welfare, Agriculture, Environment, Parliamentary Broadcasting and Library committee members, the MP said: ”You are hereby directed not to participate in the said meetings which have been called for the sole purpose of removing the leadership of those committees.”

He added that their members had already ‘exercised their mandate in electing the committees’ leadership.’

The four were summoned to State House but were a no-show. Keter said that involving the head of state was ‘petty’ as he had more important issues to handle.

On Friday, Jubilee members from the fore-mentioned committees petitioned the Speaker, Justin Muturi to allow repeat elections.

The members said that they were ‘not in their right senses when the elections were held.’
