Nemanja Gudelj is a Serbian professional footballer born on 16 November 1991 in Belgrade.
He primarily plays as a defensive midfielder or centre-back and currently represents La Liga club Getafe as well as the Serbia national team.
The son of former professional footballer and coach Nebojša Gudelj, he spent much of his childhood and early development in the Netherlands after the family relocated there due to his father’s career, including time at NAC Breda.
Gudelj holds both Serbian and Dutch citizenship. In August 2023 he married Serbian singer Anastasija Ražnatović in a private ceremony, and the couple welcomed their son Ilijan in July 2026.
Siblings
Nemanja has two younger siblings, both of whom also pursued competitive sports, reflecting the athletic orientation of the family.
His brother Dragiša Gudelj followed a path in professional football.
Like Nemanja, Dragiša developed in the Netherlands, including time in the Ajax youth system, and later played for clubs in Switzerland, Portugal, and Spain, notably associating with sides such as Cádiz and Córdoba.
He retired from professional football in 2024. The brothers have maintained a close relationship throughout their careers.
Their sister Vanja Gudelj chose tennis rather than football. She has competed primarily at the ITF level under the Dutch flag, training for years and working to progress in the professional ranks, with rankings that have placed her in the lower tiers of the WTA list in recent years.

Career
Gudelj began his youth career with BSV Boeimeer and then joined the NAC Breda academy.
He signed his first professional contract with NAC Breda in 2009 and made his senior breakthrough there, appearing regularly in the Eredivisie before transferring to AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2013 for a fee of around €3 million.
After two productive seasons at AZ he moved to Ajax in 2015, where his younger brother also joined the youth ranks and their father took a scouting role focused on the Balkans.
A period in China followed, first with Tianjin Teda in 2017 and then Guangzhou Evergrande in 2018. He spent the 2018–19 season on loan at Sporting CP in Portugal before joining Sevilla in 2019.
At Sevilla he became a mainstay over seven seasons, making more than 250 official appearances, assuming the captaincy after Jesús Navas retired, and contributing to major European success.
He left Sevilla at the end of the 2025–26 campaign and signed for Getafe in August 2026.
Internationally, after representing Serbia at under-19 and under-21 level, he debuted for the senior national team in 2014 and has since earned numerous caps, featuring in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2024.
Accolades
During his time at Sporting CP, Gudelj won the Taça de Portugal and the Taça da Liga in the 2018–19 season. With Guangzhou Evergrande he claimed the Chinese FA Super Cup in 2018.
His most prominent successes came with Sevilla, where he lifted the UEFA Europa League in both the 2019–20 and 2022–23 seasons, playing the full 120 minutes in the 2023 final against Roma.
