National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director Philip Wachira Kameru was being impersonated by a man identified as Moses Mungai who tried to “sort out” the Ruaraka land saga.
Mungai was apparently arrested alongside the disputed land owner, Francis Mburu on Wednesday by DCI officers at the latter’s Kileleshwa home.
The officers raided Mburu’s home where they discovered a pistol and a work ID belonging to the impersonator. The ID indicated that he works for the NIS.
The two were taken in for questioning where the businessman told investigators that Mungai asked for Sh10 million to help the Sh3.2 billion land case disappear.
But Mburu was later released while the impersonator remained in custody.
The businessman was however asked to report to the DCI offices on Thursday morning.
