‘Do Not Wait To Collapse, Retire’ – Ruto Tells ‘Elders In Politics’

Deputy President William Ruto has launched another round of scathing attacks against “elders in politics” asking them “to retire instead of waiting to collapse.”

Though he did not mention names, Ruto has in the past said they (Jubilee) are willing to discuss “retirement package” for Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

“I take this opportunity to tell our elders that you do not have to work until you collapse,” he said adding that “it’s good to retire when you can still sit, watch and see what you have contributed and how others want to do it,”he said today while attending Sarah Serem led SRC last luncheon.

Raila has in the recent past scoffed at UhuRuto’s calls for his retirement from active politics saying politics was not all about age, rather, ideologies.

“I will not retire because Ruto said I should. I will when I decide to. Someone might be young but has bogus policies, so angalia sera” he said at a rally in Kawangware in October this year.
