Nyachae weighs in Nyaribari Chache politics, backs Nyambane for MP seat

Former Constitution of Kenya Implementation Commission (CIC) chairman a Charles Nyachae endorsed lawyer and governance expert Okeng’o Nyambane for the Nyaribari Chache parliamentary seat.

The endorsement made during a burial ceremony in Keumbu on Friday, is expected to inject fresh momentum into Nyambane’s growing campaign ahead of the next General Election.

Nyambane is among several aspirants positioning themselves to challenge incumbent MP Zaheer Jhanda for the constituency seat.

Addressing mourners, Nyachae urged residents to support leaders with integrity, vision and the capacity to deliver meaningful development.

“I believe Okeng’o Nyambane has what it takes to provide effective leadership to the people of Nyaribari Chache. He is knowledgeable, committed and has consistently demonstrated a genuine concern for the welfare of residents,” Nyachae said.

The former CIC chairman described Nyambane as a progressive leader who understands the needs of the constituency and is well-positioned to champion the interests of residents in the National Assembly.

Nyachae challenged voters to reject divisive politics and instead elect leaders based on their ability to transform lives and drive development.

“Our people should focus on leaders who can deliver results. We must move away from politics of division and support individuals with the vision and competence to address the challenges facing our communities,” he said.

Nyaribari Chache, he said, requires strong representation to tackle development concerns.

“Parliament needs leaders who can effectively articulate the concerns of their constituents and influence policies that improve livelihoods,” Nyachae added.

The endorsement comes only weeks after elders drawn from three separate clans in Nyaribari Chache publicly declared support for Nyambane’s bid, citing his leadership credentials, professional background and commitment to community development.

Nyachae also called on the Gusii community to rally behind former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i in his presidential ambitions.

“Matiang’i has the experience, expertise and track record needed to steer this country forward. Kenyans should give serious consideration to leaders who have demonstrated their ability to deliver results in public service,” Nyachae said.
