Nyayo Stadium will be ready for use by next month, Rashid Achesa, the cabinet secretary for sports has assured Kenyans.
Rashid made “an impromptu visit” to the Kenya’s second largest stadium after the Kasarani Stadium on Monday to “inspect the ongoing construction and renovation works.”
“I am pleased to report that all the contractors are on site and the stadium will be ready by the end of this month,” he said.

For close to a year now the 30,000 capacity facility has been closed for the works which were supposed to have been completed early this year for it to host the CHAN 2018.
However, lack of funding from the government stalled the project until recently when contractors returned on site to ensure it is ready for the Jamhuri Day celebrations on 12 December 2018.
CHAN was fished away from Kenya for lack of preparedness with Morocco taking snatching the hosting rights.
