ODM Distances Itself From Oketch Salah

Oketch Salah

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has issued a statement distancing the party from businessman Oketch Salah, saying his activities and statements are personal and do not represent the party.

In a statement released on Friday, ODM Chairperson Gladys Wanga said that any actions taken by Salah are not sanctioned by the party and should not be linked to ODM in any way.

“All official ODM activities, programmes and engagements are conducted through the party secretariat and under the direction of the party leadership, headed by Dr Oburu Odinga,” Wanga said.

She warned grassroots leaders, members and supporters against organising or attending activities in the name of ODM without approval from the party leadership and secretariat.

“No activities should be organised or conducted in the name of ODM without prior consultation and approval from the party leadership,” Wanga added.

Oketch Salah recently attracted public attention following claims he made linking himself closely to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

However, Raila Odinga’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, dismissed Salah’s claims during a national television interview, saying the statements were not true.
