The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has revealed that Msambweni Member of Parliament Suleiman Dori is not yet out of hook days after his Malindi counterpart Aisha Jumwa was expelled from the party.
In an interview with a local daily, ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna said although the legislator sought forgiveness from the party leadership, most delegates were not convinced that he is remorseful.
Consequently, the National Governing Council (NGC) has demanded he appears before the council.
‘’Majority of the delegates attending the NGC demanded that Dori appear before them and formally make an official address recanting his political mistakes,’’ Sifuna said.
Further, Sifuna divulged that the ODM party is keen on whipping its members to toe the party line and propagate party ideals.
He affirmed that like any other party, ODM is governed by law and has its guiding principles in accordance with the Political Parties Act that each member must strive to abide by.
The declaration comes barely a day after expelled legislator Aisha Jumwa remained defiant to the part’s final decision.
The Malindi MP has maintained there will be no by-election despite her being expelled from the ODM party for disloyalty.
She has vowed to finish her five years term as per the law.

“If rules and regulations had been followed I would probably have relinquished my seat,( Kama sheria na taratibu zingefuatwa, mimi Aisha Jumwa labda ningekua nimesema nimesalimu amri”) she said.
Jumwa was speaking on Saturday in her constituency where received a grand reception from her supporters who matched from the Malindi International airport to Mbuzi Wengi for a rally.
She urged residents not to panic but to continue with their daily business without fear.
The legislator was expelled on Friday.
The decision was adopted by the National Governing Council (NGC) as recommended by the National Executive Council (NEC).
The “rebel” legislator has been facing disciplinary action after she openly pledged her support to Deputy President William Ruto.
