Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Nyando Member of Parliament, Fred Outa and his counterpart Jared Okello have been rejected by family for backing Anyang’ Nyong’o’s Kisumu gubernatorial candidacy.
Their families who hail from the Kano clan are said to be in support of Jack Ranguma’s candidacy. Both Outa and Okello have been termed as betrayers since they hail from the same clan as the incumbent, Ranguma.

Outa has been accused of spoiling the political broth and overlooking the clan’s interests. He ditched his clansmen saying that he endeared the new leadership values and philosophies embodied by Prof. Nyong’o.
The now Nyando legislator is said to be planning a crisis rally in Kano in a bid to secure blessings from the community in his senatorial bid.
Prof. Nyong’o is running on an ODM ticket for the Kisumu Governor seat after hotly contested party primaries.
His running is Dr. Mathew Owili, a pharmacist.
