Office of the President in another Anglo-Leasing Like Security Deal
A swift background check on the said security firm is returning more questions than answers. The strange thing is that the company doesn’t have much information about itself unlike other US security contractors which you can easily find background information of online. They are swimming on the publicity in the Business Daily to market their recently opened Facebook page. Their website has no information to take home, raising questions about the company.
Most of the links shared on the Facebook page are about Kenyan security issues. The company is said to be preparing to monitor the communication of Kenyans. It is also expected to roll-out digital personal identification cards and a telecoms surveillance network that will remotely intercept voice and text messages from individuals.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku told the Business Daily that “Kenya is negotiating with Richmar and Associates for the supply of Biometric Identification Cards and portable data centre technology that will hold an individual’s biometrics including voice – helping to monitor all types of information exchange among citizens.”
This security firm is just shady. If you can find information online about L-3 Communications which handles Airforce One communication security, why not about Richmar and Associates?
