Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has taken the issue of Sharon Otieno’s murder head on, accusing his colleague from Migori Okoth Obado of being the main suspect.
In an audio, the governor is heard saying that Obado tried to force Sharon to abort, which she did not budge to. According to Sonko, this is what could have led to the gruesome murder of Sharon.
“The main suspect (of Sharon’s murder) is my fellow governor, governor Obado, Shame on you! The postmortem report shows that Sharon was stabbed on the uterus to kill the embryo, because Obado told Sharon to abort but she refused. Why didn’t he use a condom?” poses Sonko.

Sonko has urged the director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji to charge governor Obado with murder. “DPP Noordin Haji should stop playing with Kenyans’ minds and charge Obado with murder,” Sonko is heard saying.
The governor has further urged all the governors led by the chairman of the Council of Governors Josphat Nanok to distance themselves from Obado’s case, warning that Nanok should not convene any press conference in Obado’s defense.
Sonko further urged the President to sign into law the finance bill 2018 passed by parliament, proposing a two-year postponement of the 16% VAT levy on fuel.
