There was panic at the Moi International Airport in Mombasa when an Ethiopian airline landed there and burst on Monday morning.

Plane had 155 passengers and eight crew members on board when it landed there about 11.50 am on October 6, 2025.

Witnesses said the rear four tyres burst after the plane touched down.

It is not clear what caused the burst of the tyres at ago.

Emergency services were mobilized and responded to the area before the plane was towed off the runway to fire station.

Officials said no injuries were reported in the incident. All the passengers and crew were safely evacuated.

Experts were called to investigate the October 6, 2025 incident.

Elsewhere at the Manda Airport, a Safarilink plane made an emergency landing moments after it had taken off from the airport.

The pilot called the controller to say the plane had developed mechanical problems.

This was after he had flown out of the airport for ten minutes headed for Nairobi through Malindi.

The pilot said he wanted to land back at the Manda airport where the plane landed safely.

The passengers disembarked and waited for the plane to be repaired
