Panic as pistol belonging to a CS’s bodyguard discharges at JKIA

There was panic when a pistol belonging to a bodyguard attached to a Cabinet Secretary discharged a bullet at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe was headed for Mombasa on Monday evening and was in the company of his bodyguard when the incident happened at the Kenya Airways security office.
The police officer had gone to the office to hand over the pistol for safe transfer by the pilots to Mombasa as it is required when the bullet discharged.
Police said no one was injured in the incident involving a Sig-Sauer P239 pistol. This happened as the officer conducted its safety.
The bodyguard and the CS proceeded with their trip to Mombasa. Officials said they were investigating the incident with new regulations planned.
Meanwhile, police in Kirinyaga are pursuing two women who stupefied a man in an incident in Sagana Town and stole his Sh1 million from his bank account.
The incident happened on Sunday morning when the man found himself in a car half naked with Sh10,000, credit cards and mobile phone missing.
The women later withdrew Sh1 million from the man’s bank accounts.
He had been at a bar in Sagana before later found himself in Kibirigwi shopping centre long after he had been poisoned and robbed.
The victim was rushed to hospital pending further investigations.
Police said they were pursuing the women behind the incident and other cases that have been reported in the area amid concerns they are rendering many zombies. The poison used in stupefying is damaging to the human body.
Police say such cases have been on the rise in the area and have linked a gang of women to the same. This has prompted investigations to solve the trend, police said on Tuesday adding at least three women and a man had been arrested and prosecuted over the same.
