Passport Fees For Kenyans Living Abroad Doubled

The government has almost doubled passport fees for Kenyans living abroad.

Those living in the Caribbean countries, together with those in the United States of America will be expected to pay the highest fees.

For a 32 page passport, they will part with Sh8,000, Sh11,000 for 48 page and Sh14,000 for a 64 page passport.

Before the changes were signed by Interior CS, Fred Matiang’i, the passports went for Sh4,500 for 32 page, Sh6,000 for 48 page while a 64 page passport went for Sh7,500.

Diplomatic passports for those living in the aforementioned countries will be required to pay Sh17,000 up from Sh7,500.

Those seeking to renew or replace their passports will have to pay Sh20,000 all the way from Sh10,000.

Similarly, those living in Africa, Asia and Australia will part with Sh5,000, Sh6,500 and Sh8,000 for a 32, 48 and 64 page passport respectively.

Kenyans residing in the United Kingdom will also feel the pinch as a 32 page passport will now cost them Sh6,403, a 48 page Sh7,516 and a 64 page passport Sh12,807.

For those living in the EU will pay Sh7,516 for a 32 page passport, Sh9,395 for a 48-page passport and Sh11,274 for a 64-page passport.
