Paul Cluzet is a French writer and former child actor, born in 1992 in Nîmes, France, to renowned actors François Cluzet and Marie Trintignant.
He experienced a profound personal tragedy at the age of ten when his mother died in 2003 under tragic circumstances.
After spending time in Australia, where he pursued personal growth and relationships, Paul has emerged as a literary voice, debuting as an author with his first novel, Bobby Nazebroque, published by Éditions Grasset in March 2024.
At 31 years old, he maintains a low profile, occasionally appearing alongside his father at public events like Roland-Garros, but prefers a life of travel, poetry, and introspection over the spotlight.

From his mother’s side, Paul has three half-brothers, Roman Kolinka, born in 1986 to Marie Trintignant and musician Richard Kolinka; Léon Othnin-Girard, born in 1995 to Trintignant and director Mathias Othnin-Girard; and Jules Benchetrit, born in 1997 to Trintignant and director Samuel Benchetrit.
On his father’s side, Paul has three half-siblings from François Cluzet’s subsequent partnerships, Blanche Cluzet, born in 1982 from an earlier relationship; and Joseph and Marguerite Cluzet, born to Cluzet and actress Valérie Bonneton during their long-term union in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Career
As a toddler, Cluzet made his screen debut in the 1994 French telefilm Rêveuse jeunesse, directed by Didier Haudepin, where he portrayed the infant character Roma, a poignant nod to his own half-brother.
This early role, filmed when he was just two years old, marked his only foray into acting, as the young Cluzet soon retreated from the cameras amid personal family upheavals.
For much of his twenties, Paul embraced a nomadic lifestyle, hitchhiking across continents, immersing himself in poetry, and residing in Australia to nurture romantic relationships and self-discovery, as recounted by his grandfather Jean-Louis Trintignant in interviews.
It was this period of wandering that fueled his transition to writing.
In 2024, at the age of 31, Paul published his debut novel Bobby Nazebroque, a work blending autobiographical elements with introspective prose, earning quiet acclaim for its raw emotional honesty.
Today, he continues to explore literature as his primary creative outlet, occasionally modeling but distancing himself from the performative demands of his lineage.
