Pénta, known professionally as Penta El Zero Miedo or simply Penta, is a renowned Mexican masked professional wrestler.

Born on February 26, 1985, in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, Penta embodies the high-flying, high-impact tradition of lucha libre while infusing it with a modern, aggressive edge.

He is celebrated for his signature moves like the Fear Factor package piledriver and the armbreaker submission, often accompanied by his rallying cry of “Cero Miedo” – Zero Fear.

Now signed to WWE’s Raw brand as of early 2025, Penta has transitioned from indie darling to global superstar, bringing his unique blend of technical prowess and theatrical intensity to one of wrestling’s biggest stages.

    Siblings

Penta has two siblings, Ikaro and Rey Fénix.

Born on December 30, 1990, Rey Fénix is a fellow masked luchador whose aerial acrobatics and innovative maneuvers have made him a standout performer across promotions.

They trained together from a young age, debuting on the same day under the guidance of legendary trainers like Gran Apache and Skayde, and quickly rose through the ranks of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), where they feuded intensely before teaming up as unstoppable allies.

Penta also has another younger brother, known as Ikaro, who pursues a career as a professional wrestler, though he maintains a lower profile compared to his more famous siblings.

    Career

Penta’s wrestling odyssey began humbly in 2007 under the alias Zairus on the Mexican independent circuit, where he honed his skills in gritty matches against local talent.

By 2010, he had caught the eye of AAA, debuting as Dark Dragon and evolving into the menacing Pentagón Jr. in 2013, a role that pitted him against his own brother Rey Fénix in a series of brutal, mask-on-the-line encounters.

This period solidified his reputation as a ruthless competitor, capturing titles like the AAA Latin American Championship and World Tag Team Championship while navigating the infamous “Pentagon curse” with unyielding bravado.

His international breakthrough came in 2014 with Lucha Underground, the innovative U.S. series that showcased his arm-snapping villainy and supernatural storylines, earning him the Lucha Underground Championship and a cult following.

Venturing further, Penta – now rebranded as Penta El Zero Miedo after leaving AAA in 2017 due to trademark disputes – conquered promotions like Impact Wrestling (where he reigned as Impact World Champion in 2018), Major League Wrestling (MLW World Tag Team Champion with Fénix), and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG World Tag Team Champion).

In 2019, he and his brother signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), forming the cornerstone of its tag and trios divisions as part of Death Triangle alongside PAC.

There, they clinched the AEW World Tag Team Championship and AEW World Trios Championship, delivering unforgettable clashes against teams like The Young Bucks and delivering “Cero Miedo” to sold-out arenas.

After declining to re-sign with AEW in late 2024, Penta made a seismic WWE debut on the January 13, 2025, episode of Raw on Netflix, defeating Chad Gable in a hard-hitting showcase that drew thunderous chants.

His WWE tenure has already featured high-stakes feuds and crossovers, with whispers of a Lucha Brothers reunion teasing even greater heights.

    Accolades

In AEW, Penta secured the prestigious AEW World Tag Team Championship twice with Rey Fénix and the AEW World Trios Championship as part of Death Triangle, cementing their status as one of the promotion’s most decorated acts.

His Impact Wrestling run yielded the Impact World Championship, a rare singles world title for a luchador, along with the Impact World Tag Team Championship, highlighting his ability to main-event against the best.

Earlier accolades include the Lucha Underground Championship, where his reign defined the series’ early success, and the MLW World Tag Team Championship, won alongside his brother in a historic debut.

In Mexico’s AAA, Penta claimed the Latin American Championship, World Mixed Tag Team Championship, and World Tag Team Championship, often in epic battles that intertwined family drama with athletic spectacle.

Independent promotions further burnished his legacy: the PWG World Tag Team Championship in a three-way thriller against The Young Bucks and Ricochet/Matt Sydal; the AAW Heavyweight and Heritage Championships; and triumphs in The Crash Lucha Libre, HOG, and IWA Mid-South.

Niche honors like the Mexican Strong Style Championship, Perros del Mal Light Heavyweight Title, and Wrestling Superstar World Submission Lucha Title underscore his technical mastery.

Beyond belts, Penta’s impact is recognized in rankings such as No. 28 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s 2019 PWI 500 and Match of the Year nods for his 2018 Slammiversary clash with Sami Callihan.
