Peter Thomas England, better known by his ring name Pete Dunne, is an accomplished English professional wrestler, trainer, and producer born on November 9, 1993, in Solihull, England, and raised in the nearby Chelmsley Wood area.

He has carved out a reputation as one of the most technically proficient and hard-hitting performers in modern professional wrestling.

Signed to WWE since 2017, Dunne currently competes on the Raw brand as one half of the tag team New Catch Republic alongside longtime partner Tyler Bate.

Beyond the ring, he has contributed to the industry as a promoter, having co-founded ATTACK! Pro Wrestling in 2011, and as a producer for events like NXT UK and WWE Speed.

    Siblings

Pete has one sibling, his older brother, Damian Dunne, who is also a professional wrestler.

The two shared early career tag team matches, often performing as the Dunne Brothers in promotions like Progress Wrestling and ATTACK! Pro Wrestling, where they built a foundation of teamwork amid the gritty British independent circuit.

Damian, though less prominent than Pete, competed alongside him in various small shows around Birmingham and beyond.

    Career

Dunne’s wrestling odyssey commenced in 2006 at age 12, training under Steve “Psycho” Edwards at Phoenix Wrestling in Coventry, where he absorbed the fundamentals amid limited resources.

His debut came swiftly in 2007 at the Holbrooks Festival in Coventry, pitting him against future rival Mark Andrews and igniting a lifelong pursuit of excellence.

Early years saw Dunne masked as Tiger Kid, honing skills in community centers and small promotions like EDW Wrestling and Kamikaze Pro Wrestling, often alongside brother Damian.

By 2010, after unmasking in a hair-vs.-mask stipulation, he adopted his namesake persona and expanded internationally, gracing Irish rings with Dublin Championship Wrestling and Scottish bouts in PBW.

A pivotal shift occurred in 2011 when Dunne co-founded ATTACK! Pro Wrestling with Jim Lee, aiming to amplify opportunities for his circle of peers.

This entrepreneurial spirit propelled him into larger independents: he captured the RPW British Cruiserweight Championship in 2016, feuded intensely in Progress Wrestling, winning the World Championship that same year, and ventured to Chikara in the U.S., triumphing in the 2017 King of Trios tournament.

His hard-edged style, blending technical mastery with vicious finger-snaps and submissions, drew acclaim across wXw and Revolution Pro Wrestling.

WWE beckoned in 2017 via the United Kingdom Championship Tournament, where Dunne reached the finals only to fall to Tyler Bate, yet their rematch at NXT TakeOver: Chicago birthed a classic, crowning Dunne the inaugural UK Champion.

This 685-day reign, one of WWE’s longest in the modern era, solidified his status as NXT UK’s “standard-bearer,” defending against elite challengers like Zack Gibson, Noam Dar, and Ricochet while bridging indie roots with corporate polish.

Post-reign loss to Walter (now Gunther) in 2019, Dunne pivoted to NXT proper, partnering with Matt Riddle as the Broserweights to claim the NXT Tag Team Championship and the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

A 2021 main roster call-up rebranded him Butch, aligning with the brawling Brawling Brutes stable alongside Sheamus and Ridge Holland, where his intensity fueled visceral feuds.

By 2023, creative shifts saw him reclaim the Pete Dunne moniker, reuniting with Bate as New Catch Republic on SmackDown in 2024, challenging for tag gold and embodying technical supremacy.

Dunne’s masked alter ego, Rayo Americano, emerged in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, expanding his versatility.

    Accolades

Dunne’s trophy case gleams with a testament to his supremacy across wrestling’s landscapes, headlined by his monumental WWE United Kingdom Championship reign from 2017 to 2019.

Complementing this, he secured the NXT Tag Team Championship in 2020 with Matt Riddle, capping a Broserweights run that also netted the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic victory, showcasing his adaptability in tandem warfare.

On the independents, Dunne reigned as Progress World Champion in 2016, defending ferociously in no-holds-barred spectacles, while his 2017 King of Trios triumph with British Strong Style in Chikara affirmed his global appeal.

Further honors include the wXw Shotgun Championship, RPW British Cruiserweight Championship, and ATTACK! 24/7 Championship held for a staggering 307 consecutive days from 2015 to 2016, underscoring his endurance.

In tag realms, victories like the Progress Tag Team Championship, FCP Tag Team Championship, and OTT Tag Team Championship highlight collaborative prowess with kin and comrades alike.

Individual accolades abound: Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked him 29th in the 2017 PWI 500, NXT Year-End Award for Match of the Year in 2017 for his iconic clash with Tyler Bate, and No. 12 among the top 30 Pro Wrestlers Under 30 in 2023.
