Philipp Eberhard Hermann Kohlschreiber is a German former professional tennis player.
He turned professional in 2001 and retired in 2022 after a long career on the ATP Tour.
Known for his consistency and all-court game that featured strong groundstrokes and effective drop shots, he reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 16 in July 2012.
He resided in Kitzbühel, Austria, for much of his later career and married his long-term partner Lena Alberti there on 1 August 2018.
Siblings
Philipp has two sisters, Sandra and Gerlinde.
Their parents are Gerhard, who formerly operated a petrol station, and Maria, a kindergarten teacher.
Career
Kohlschreiber began playing tennis at age four and developed into a durable professional who remained in the top 100 for an extended period, from March 2006 through early 2021 in consecutive weeks.
His singles career record stood at 478 wins and 387 losses, while in doubles he compiled a 98–118 mark.
He claimed eight ATP singles titles and seven doubles titles.

Highlights included reaching the quarterfinals at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships – his best Grand Slam result – and advancing to the fourth round at the Australian Open (2005, 2008, 2012), French Open (2009, 2013), and US Open (multiple times including 2012–2014, 2017, and 2018).
He also reached several ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinals and recorded notable victories, such as defeating then-world No. 1 Novak Djokovic at the 2019 Indian Wells tournament.
Kohlschreiber performed strongly on home soil in Germany and enjoyed success in Kitzbühel, where he won titles in 2015 and 2017.
He represented Germany in Davis Cup (reaching the semifinals in 2007) and other team events, and competed at the Olympics.
His professional longevity was marked by steady results across surfaces before he played his final matches in 2022.

Kohlschreiber’s primary achievements include eight ATP singles titles and seven doubles titles, a career-high ranking of No. 16 in singles and No. 51 in doubles, and a Wimbledon quarterfinal appearance in 2012.
