Pilot claims he lost his pistol in attack in Gatanga

Police are investigating claims by a pilot with a private air service that he lost his pistol to suspected thugs in an attack in Gatanga’s Katibanga area, Murang’a County.
He told police he was driving home in his Range Rover car when he was blocked by three motorcycles, which had men armed with crude weapons.
He said he tried to drive off before he veered off the road and landed in a ditch.
It was then, according to him that the attackers robbed him of his Glock 17 Gen 5 pistol with 14 rounds of 9mm, a wallet containing a national ID card and a firearm certificate, his ignition keys, USD200 US and a Samsung fold 6.
Police visited the scene and announced they were investigating the same.
In Kehancha, Migori County, police said they recovered an imitation of a pistol from a suspect in a club.
Revelers at the club reported there were people who had entered the premise with the said imitation prompting a police search which saw the recovery of the same. A man and a woman were arrested over the recovery.
Meanwhile, a mob set on fire two motorcycles belonging to suspected thieves who had stolen a cow and slaughtered it in Kinangop, Nyandarua County.
The mob traced the suspected thieves to a thicket where they had slaughtered the cow valued at Sh150,000 and started to share the meat.
Police said the suspects escaped leaving the carcass and two motor cycles which were set ablaze by irate members of the public.
Police later visited the scene and announced they were pursuing the suspects.
In Alungu, Lafey, Mandera County, a motorcyclist was robbed of his motorcycle in an attack by gunmen.
The victim said he was headed towards Elwak when he was confronted by six gunmen. One of them shot to the air as another slapped him before they grabbed his motorcycle and fled with it.
Police said they were investigating the incident which happened on Sunday.
