Mamelodi Sundowns manager Pitso Mosimane has been reported to Umlazi police station, South Africa by a security guard for alleged assault.

Nathi Nywenya, head of Amazulu FC’s security provider, has opened a case against Pitso whom he accused of punching him.

“Yes, there’s a case opened. It is a case of a common assault. It was opened at Umlazi police station in D-section.

We are still investigating the case. A 49-year-old male was allegedly assaulted with a clenched fist by a known suspect,” Thulani Zwane, Kwazulu-Nutal’s Police spokesman confirmed.

The incident occurred after Sundwons’ 3-3 draw away to Amazulu in the Premier Soccer League over the weekend.

Two Sundowns invaded the field prompting Nathi and his team to rough them off the field.

This did not go down well with Pitso who thought the fans could have been handled better.

He tried to pull the supporters from the guards so he could walk them off the field but the guards could not let him leading to a scuffle which police had to come in to quell.

Pitso denied punching the guard saying “I was just trying to say to the guy: ‘take him off properly.

There were no punches. You are trying to make a scene. Where were the punches?” he paused during post match interview.

That guy wanted to be on television so that his family can see him. It is unbelievable. If the guy resists then you can use other means but they were not resisting.

He’s our supporter, let me take him off,” the 2016 African coach of the year added.
