Police Arrest Two Suspects Behind Kiminini Robberies

Police in Kiminini, Trans Nzoia County, have arrested two key suspects believed to be behind a series of violent robberies in the area.
According to police, the suspects — Hillary Kirwa Chebonya and Micah Kirui — were arrested after a robbery at Shikendu trading centre along the Kitale–Webuye highway near the Trans Nzoia–Bungoma border.
During the attack, a bodaboda rider was ambushed and robbed of his mobile phone, Sh6,000, and his motorcycle. The gang is also said to have raped a woman inside a kiosk before escaping.
Police said they launched a manhunt immediately after the incident and used forensic leads to track down the suspects at their hideout. The two were taken to Kiminini Police Station for processing.
“The suspects are now awaiting their day in court as officers continue with investigations to arrest other accomplices still at large,” police said.
