Police fatally shoot suspect after attacking senior officer in Narok

A suspect was shot and killed after he confronted police officers at Sakutuek police station while demanding the release of his brother in Narok County.
Police said the incident happened on Saturday March 28 evening.
A man walked to the station after his brother had been arrested and demanded his release unconditionally. The brother had been detained for assault pending investigations and arraignment, police said.
He then confronted the deputy station commander and slashed his left palm using a panga, police said.
It was then that the officer reached out his pistol and shot the suspect fatally.
The police officer was taken to a local hospital for medical attention even as a mob surged outside the station demanding the release of the suspect and explanation of the fatal shooting.
Tension mounted in the area overnight as more personnel were sent there to ensure calm.
The body was later moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere in Kisenya, Vihiga County, a stock theft suspect was stoned to death. The suspect was accused of stealing livestock in the area.

In Kakamega, a man was found dead on the roadside after a suspected murder.

The motive of the murder was not immediately established even as the body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy.
Police identified the man as Peter Nyandemo, 56. The body had deep cuts in the head., police said and added the hunt on the suspects in the murder was ongoing.
Murder incidents have been on the rise amid efforts to solve them. Police link most of the incidents to love triangles, land disputes and deals gone bad.
