    Police Officer, Corporal Wafula, Dies in Hospital Following the Cholera Attack

    A police officer named Corporal Wafula, from the Kenya Police Service, has died after being admitted to hospital following the cholera attack.

    Corporal Wafula was among a team of 88 officers who contracted cholera from their eating point in Nairobi Area police headquarters. He was stationed in Embu after transfer from Kayole a few weeks ago.

    The officer’s mess is situated in such a way that the police officers are literally served food then passes through a toilet (YES!!) while going to take up their seats inside the mess.

    Meanwhile,  6 more officers from Murang’a who were also deployed to Nairobi to quell the riots have been admitted to various hospitals. The officers have also shown signs of cholera and are currently undergoing treatment.
