A police officer attached to Kabiyet Police Station in Nandi North Sub-County was found dead in his house in an incident reported as a sudden death.

The officer, identified as Police Constable Bob Murage, was discovered unresponsive in his rental house within Kabiyet Township on Friday March 13, 2026, police said.

The discovery was made at around 7:30 p.m. by fellow officer, who had gone to check on him.

Upon arrival, he found the house locked from the inside. After peeping through the window, he saw Murage lying motionless on a mattress facing upwards.

He immediately informed his seniors who visited the scene.

Police officers rushed to the scene and forced entry into the house. They found the officer lying on his back with foam oozing from his mouth.

Assorted medication drugs were also discovered inside the house.

DCI officers processed the scene but did not detect anything unusual and no physical injuries were observed on the body.

The body was later moved to Samaritan Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending an autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man was found dead inside a toilet at Kababu Village in Mogotio Sub-County, Baringo County, in an incident reported to police on the evening of March 13, 2026.

Police said the discovery was made after a family member alerted local authorities.

The area chief received a phone call from Collins Kipngetich Kibon, a relative, who reported that the body of Rodney Kipruto Chumba had been found lying lifeless inside his toilet at Kababu Village.

Police visited the scene and established that the deceased was suspected to have earlier consumed an unknown amount of alcohol at the home of two residents of the area before the incident occurred.

Police processed the scene before removing the body to Eldama Ravine Sub-County Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending a post-mortem examination.
