Police Rescue KWS Officer Kidnapped by Robbers in Kinoo

Police officers on patrol in Kinoo, Kiambu County, have rescued a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer who had been kidnapped by suspected robbers.
According to police, the rescue took place in the early hours of October 6, 2025, after officers received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the area. When police approached the vehicle, the occupants tried to flee, prompting a brief chase that led to the arrest of two suspects.
Inside the car’s boot, officers found a man who had been tied up and blindfolded. He was later identified as a KWS officer travelling to Nairobi. The officer told police that the suspects had taken money from his mobile wallet and were robbing passengers along the route.
Police recovered several stolen mobile phones from the suspects. A manhunt has been launched to track down additional suspects who managed to escape during the operation.
“The National Police Service has commended the prompt action of the officers involved,” police said in a statement.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
