Police shot and killed a suspected thug in a botched robbery in Jubilee area, Pangani, Nairobi.

A team of police who were on patrol said they had been informed three suspects were attacking and robbing locals on Saturday morning before into action.

Police said they recovered a knife and toy pistol from the slain man.

Two of his accomplices managed to escape on foot to Makaburini area, police said.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Police say they have intensified operations to address growing cases of armed robberies.

This has led a general decline in crime in some areas.

Elsewhere in Likoni, Mombasa County, at least 22 suspects were arrested in a police operation on Friday night.

This was aimed at addressing fluctuating rate of crime in the area, police said.

Police said the suspects were taken for profiling and grilling as part of the probe into the crimes in the area.

Meanwhile, police in Kondele, Kisumu County are investigating an incident where a woman was stabbed in the neck and killed in a robbery.

The woman identified as Mercy Muthoni was at her shop when she was attacked.

A mob confronted the suspect behind the fatal stabbing and stoned him to death.

Police said a kitchen knife was found at the scene. The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Police linked the stabbing to an attempted robbery that went bad.

In Bondo Siaya County, a man was found dead after suspected murder.

The body had been dumped on the roadside by the assailants, police said.

The motive of the murder is yet to be known.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

The body had a stab wound in the rig cage, police said.
