Private Cars Turning Into PSVs To Cash In On Festivities Rush Will Be Prosecuted – NTSA

The demand for transport to upcountry as many in Nairobi and other cities rush for festivities is often overwhelming.

Public transport services often take advantage of the craze to hike fare but even so, most passengers often have to queue for long as most PSVs often get full fast.

Private Car owners have often joined in the bad wagon to cash in on the demand for transport but the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) thinks otherwise.

The Authority’s director Francis Meja said individuals who operate their private cars as PSVs will be prosecuted and they will work with PSV owners to map out culprits.

This comes after at least 70 people died in separate accidents across the country in the last three days. The month of festivities has claimed almost double the number many witnessed in the stretch of Eldoret-Nakuru.
