Probe as suspects break into Jomvu Girls offices, steal money

Detectives are investigating an incident where suspected thugs broke to Jomvu Girls High School in Mombasa and stole cash and other valuables.

The gang also injured two guards on duty before tying their hands and legs. They were locked in one of the rooms there.

The said thugs targeted the administration block’s reception and the deputy principal’s offices where they ransacked for valuables.

They also broke into a safe there and escaped with unknown amount of money.

According to police the server to the security cameras was damaged by the said thugs.

Police later detained the two guards who were on duty for questioning following the June 4 incident.

Meanwhile, police in Kwanza, Trans Nzoia County are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found burnt in his house.

The incident happened in Kapkoi village, police said.

It was established that John Masinde, 63 was murdered in his house and his body set on fire.

Police said the motive of the incident is yet to be known.

Three bags of fertilizer, a solar battery and an inverter were found few meters from the house, police said.

The deceased lived alone at the time of the incident.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Police said no arrest has been made so far.

Elsewhere in Lungalunga, Kwale County, one Alfani Salim, 69 was killed in an attack outside his house.

His body was found lying on a mart outside his house and in a pool of blood with multiple injuries in the head, neck, shoulder and wrist in Dzombo village.

Police said the deceased was seated outside his house while his wife was busy preparing supper when the incident happened on Wednesday evening.

The motive of the attack is yet to be known. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations, police said.
