A former aide of Raila Odinga, Noah Oduo Akala, and his brother Nyangasi Nyangasi, have this evening been released from Kilimani Police Station after being arrested earlier in the afternoon.

According to sources at Kilimani Police Division, the two and others were arrested after being lured into a trap by EACC officers who got wind of their activities. The group was nabbed inside a local hotel while waiting to have the money they were promised brought to them.

Noah and Nyangasi are brothers and they have been in touch with Governors Kingi, Rasanga and Awiti promising to help them avoid appearance at EACC for corruption cases if the three leaders paid them Ksh 30 million each.

Sources withing the police indicated that the two worked in cohort with others who claimed to be EACC investigators and commissioner. At least one member of the group impersonated EACC commissioner Dabar Maalim.

Staff of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s office have always gone out to warn those who care to know that Noah Akala and his friends are up to no good.

The group arrested this evening had an Asian accomplice being used to lure the governors.
