The campaign season is also known as ‘our time to eat’ and it is the season where artistes make money off of politicians as they should.
NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga earlier this week issued a cheque of Ksh 400,000 to the Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP) and Performers Rights Society of Kenya ( PRISK) to enable them to play music from Kenyan artists in their rallies.
The law has been issued by the bodies to ensure that the producers and artists make money from their work being used in public rallies.
Mike Sonko also gave out Ksh 150,000 on Thursday, June 22. Presidential candidates are required to pay Ksh 400,000, Senatorial candidates a total of Ksh 100,000, Women Representatives and Parliamentary aspirants Ksh 50,000.
