    Raila’s TBT Train Photos Excite Kenyans On Twitter

    ODM Party leader and African Union envoy Raila Odinga excited netizens with a throw back Thursday (TBT) from his days in Germany.

    Odinga posted two images with him hanging on a train in Magdeburg.

    “Hanging out and catching a train ride in Magdeburg, Germany,” he captioned it.

    The images attracted more than 2500 likes and 559 retweets.

    The images lit up Twitter, attracting all sorts of reactions. They said:

    The photos are believed to date back almost 50 years ago. Then he was a student at the Technical School, Magdeburg, between 1965 and 1970.

    With a Masters in Mechanical Engineer, Odinga would later return to Kenya. He became a lecturer at the University of Nairobi.

    Four years into the teaching profession, the former premier landed a job at the Kenya Bureau of Standards as the deputy director.

    In 1982 he was jailed for attempting to overthrow the government. This earned him six years behind bars. He has since been actively involved in the Kenyan politics.

    His attempts at the Presidency have however proved futile.
