Kenya Rural Roads Authority has issued an alert on the Kanjama-Kiria-ini-Kangema Road in Murang’a County warning motorists to use an alternative route after a section of the road collapsed due to heavy rains therefore rendering it impassable.
Residents have complained of the road before claiming that the road was being destroyed by heavy rains causing other residents to take advantage of the situation and hike transportation prices.

Meanwhile, transport on the Meru- Nairobi highway was suspended today after the road was washed off by heavy rains last night.
The road was blocked at Ruguti area in Tharaka-Nithi County, leaving commuters stranded.
The meteorological department has warned of heavy rains but in most parts of the country, the government is yet to build flood-resistance roads.
