“It is hereby declared that February 21 of every year henceforth shall be a public holiday to be known as the Robert Mugabe National Youth Day,” The Herald Newspaper reported

The New president Emmerson Mnangangwa said that despite being fired by his predecessor a few weeks ago he still recognized him as a father , mentor , comrade in arms and his leader

“To me personally, he remains a father, mentor, comrade-in-arms and my leader,” he said during his acceptance speech at his inauguration.

The move to make his birthday a national holiday was championed by the ZANU-PF youth league back in August when the 93 year old veteran was still in power.

Several buildings, roads and a University that is still under construction have been named after Robert Mugabe.
