Ruto, CSs Make Fresh Appointments to State Boards

President William Ruto and several Cabinet secretaries have made a series of appointments and reappointments to various government boards and institutions.
The appointments, contained in a Gazette Notice dated September 18, 2026, include positions at regulatory authorities, State agencies, correctional institutions and government boards.
President Ruto reappointed Moses Njenga Chege as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Insurance Regulatory Authority.
The President also appointed Moses Narok as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority Board.
Chief Justice Martha Koome appointed Maurice Murunga Osundwa as a member of the Auctioneers Licensing Board.
National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi reappointed Rose Towett as a member of the Board of the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.
Mbadi also reappointed Ibrahim Mohamed Salat as a member of the Board of Directors of the Retirement Benefits Authority.
Internal Security and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen appointed 10 members to the Board of Visitors of the Shikusa Borstal Institution.
They are Simon Barasa Muhindi, Masimbakosi Kusille Chimwani, Canon Mudy J. Peter, Moses Juma Pata, Peter Salik Kalwale, Peter Mwombe Juma, Sylvia Kwamboka Morwabe, Millicent Kerubo Omanga, Margaret Nasimiyu Mwonyonyo and Margaret Nanzala Wambia.
Murkomen also appointed Mary Muthakye Mutua, Teresa Wairimu Mwangi, Kenneth Wahinya Njau, Peter Muinde Muteti, Zachariah Mwagandi, Ibrahim Muhumed Mohamed and Abednego Musau Satana as members of the Board of Visitors of Shimo La Tewa Borstal Institution.
Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi reappointed Diba Daudi Huka as a member of the Board of Directors of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano reappointed Patrick Ngere as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Tourism Fund.
Miano also appointed Nicholas Kimeli and Dr Yvonne Tharao as members of the Board of Trustees of the Tourism Fund.
She reappointed Rose Polyne Nyambura as a member of the Kenya Utalii College Council and appointed Dr Dorothy Jepkoech Rotich to the council.
Miano further appointed Michael Michemi Ndegwa and Beatrice Lempaira as members of the Board of Trustees of the Kenya Wildlife Service.
Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eric Muuga appointed Lilian Anyango Yonga as a member of the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority.
Muuga also appointed Silas Tochim as a member of the Governing Council of the Kenya Water Institute.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba appointed Captain Antony Kiroken as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kajiado National Polytechnic Council.
The newly appointed and reappointed officials will serve for a period of three years, according to the Gazette Notice.
