Ruto, CSs Make Fresh Appointments to State Boards

President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have made fresh appointments and reappointments to various government boards and state agencies.

In a gazette notice dated May 15, President Ruto reappointed Fred Muteti as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Special Economic Zones Authority for a period of three years, effective May 15, 2026.

Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua also appointed Mike Macharia as a member of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Board of Trustees for a three-year term.

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale appointed Nancy Jebungei Bowen as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board for a period of three years.

In the Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Ministry, Cabinet Secretary Deborah Mlongo Barasa reappointed David Mwaure Waihiga as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund for another three-year term.

Defence Cabinet Secretary Roselinda Soipan Tuya appointed Mercy Nehema Nderitu as a member of the Board of Directors of Kenya Shipyards Limited for a period of three years.

Meanwhile, Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary appointed Capt. (Rtd.) Yare Abdi Mohamed as a member of the Board of the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya for a three-year term.

At the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui appointed Douglas Ayabei and Catherine Njeri Waweru as members of the Warehouse Receipt System Council for a period of three years.
