Ruto, CSs Make Fresh Govt Appointments

Ruto signs CBK reforms into law

President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have made fresh appointments to government boards and agencies, according to a Gazette Notice dated September 11, 2026.

The appointments affect the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee, education institutions, cybersecurity, tourism, water, agriculture and energy agencies.

President William Ruto appointed Silvya C. Apaa, Ahmed Kanyara Bishar, Pascalyne Ntang’enoi Kimiriri, Ken Riaga, Evalyn Chepkirui Aruasa and Mary Nanjala Kilobi as members of the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee.

The committee plays a role in supporting consultation and cooperation between the national and county governments.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi appointed Avedi Evans Kituzi as chairman of the Kenya National Innovation Agency.

He also appointed Ali Nilfat Kassim, Yienga Julius, Magdaline Chepkemoi and Abass Jihan Faisal as members of the agency.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen appointed Jerop Joy Kibor and Dr Lorna Ogolla Omondi as members of the Board of Directors of the National Cybersecurity Agency.

The appointments come as the government continues to strengthen institutions dealing with cybersecurity and digital security.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba appointed Dr Emily Kwamboka Nyagarama as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council of Bomet University.

He also appointed Rose Chepkorir, Fredrick Njoroge, Reuben C. Butaki and Amos Okello as members of the university council.

Ogamba further appointed Moses Narok as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kajiado National Polytechnic Council.

Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano appointed Joseph Sarisar and Dorcas Ayoma Mbalanya as members of the Board of Trustees of the Tourism Fund.

The appointments add new members to the body responsible for overseeing the fund’s mandate in the tourism sector.

Water and Sanitation Cabinet Secretary Erick Muuga reappointed Everlyne Nadio as a member of the Board of Directors of the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency.

Muuga also appointed Khadua Jimmy Kahindi as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Coast Water Works Development Agency.

Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe appointed Chebii Kilel, Emmanuel Leina Tasur and Rosemary Kithira Muroria as members of the Coffee Board of Kenya.

The appointments come as the government continues to focus on reforms and development in the coffee sector.

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandai reappointed Judith Khamala Makasi Nyauncho and Kirwa Bitok as members of the Board of the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited.
