Ruto formally appoints Sossion to TSC

President William Ruto has formally appointed former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary-General Wilson Sossion and Antonina Lentoijoni as members of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The appointments were contained in a Gazette Notice dated August 31, 2026.
Sossion, a former teacher and nominated Member of Parliament, previously served as the Secretary-General of KNUT between 2013 and 2021.
He was nominated to the National Assembly to represent workers’ interests and was affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Sossion has been involved in education and labour matters for several years, particularly through his leadership at KNUT.
The TSC is mandated under the Constitution to register trained teachers, recruit and employ registered teachers, assign teachers employed by the commission for service in public schools and review the standards of education and training of persons entering the teaching service.
