DP Ruto Spends Sh10 Million On Goats To Help Enroll 5000 Families Into NHIF (Video)

Deputy President William Ruto carried with him Sh10 million in cash during a goat auction in Kajiado county meant to help 5,000 families enroll into the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).

The DP bought 700 goats for President Uhuru Kenyatta and another 700 for himself on Monday. Each goat went for at least Sh7,000.

The money, it is said was carried in a back pack which was guarded by the security officers present at the event.

“Mdosi yangu anaitwa Uhuru Kenyatta, na ndio Rais wa Jamhuri ya Kenya. Unajua ako na dunia kubwa ya kulisha. So mdosi ameniambia nimnunulie mbuzi mia saba. Na hiyo ni shilingi milioni tano. Na mimi kama mtu yake ya mkono pia nanunua mbuzi mia saba. Na hiyo ni shilingi milioni tano,” said Ruto.

“Take the money, I do not want any case filed against me,” Ruto told Lenku.

Also present at the auction was the county governor, Joseph Ole Lenku who also gave Sh750,000 for 100 goats.

Ruto is known to make huge donations during fundraisers, mostly in cash.

In 2017 both Ruto and Uhuru spent another Sh12 million at the Kimalel Goat Auction in Baringo, catching the sellers by surprise.

The duo bought 12,000 goats in cash.
