Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege In Mourning After Losing Mother

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Wanjiru Chege is in mourning after losing her mother, Susan Wairimu on Thursday.

The deceased was 68 years old when she met her untimely death following a road accident along the Kangari-Kandara road.

She was in the company of her husband, Chege Mutema who sustained severe injuries but has been admitted to the Aga Khan Hospital.

Ms Wairimu succumbed to her injuries while being rushed to Githumu Mission Hospital.

According to Murang’a county commander, Naomi Ichami, the couple was involved in a head on collision with a Toyota Noah that was carrying Unaitas staff.

The sacco staff were treated at the Githumu hospital and have been discharged.

”Mr Mutema and his wife were heading to Githumu while the vehicle carrying Unaitas Sacco staff was heading in the opposite direction when they collided at a sharp bend,” the police commander said.

The deceased’s remains will be moved to the Lee Funeral Home.

Ms Chege was on August 8 was elected for a second term on a Jubilee ticket and has been leading the Murang’a county presidential campaigns.
