Safaricom’s enterprise arm has announced the first batch of winners in its ongoing nationwide Shangwe @25 promotion, rewarding businesses across different segments with tools and financial support aimed at driving growth and community impact.

In the announcement, Safaricom Business revealed that 25 enterprise customers have already benefited from the promotion, which is running to mark the company’s 25 years of operation.

Under the initiative, 10 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) received a Bajaj tricycle each, nine enterprises were awarded business restock worth Sh250,000, while six large enterprises received Sh500,000 each to support corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects of their choice.

Among the businesses that received Bajaj tricycles are Sakifarm Limited, Millys the Redbeet Fresh Mat, Tito Busienei, Leonard Oongo, Carrix Media Group Limited, Samuel Kimando, Alex Wasike, Manjok Ltd, Douglas Onserio, and Muriiri Girls Secondary School.

Recipients of the Sh250,000 restock awards include Ebee Mobility Kenya Limited, Justus Kiprono Koros, Robert Nyakundi Ayuka, Taifa Sacco Limited, Federico Investments, Robstar Premium Fit Ltd, Sawe Cheruiyot Mais, Ronak Distributors, and Golden Green Properties Ltd.

Meanwhile, Moringa School Limited, the European Union, United Nations Federal Credit, Vivo Activewear Ltd, Kenya Human Rights Commission, and GlovoApp Ltd each received Sh500,000 to fund CSR initiatives aligned with their organisational goals.

Speaking during the announcement, Frankline Okata, Acting Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Safaricom PLC, said the promotion is a gesture of appreciation to enterprise customers who continue to partner with the company.

“The Shangwe @25 promotion is designed to thank our customers, including our enterprise partners. The randomly selected winners represent the many enterprises we are fortunate to work with every day. We are grateful for the trust and collaboration that make these partnerships meaningful, and we remain committed to providing businesses with practical tools and opportunities to grow,” Okata said.

Beneficiaries also shared how Safaricom Business solutions have supported their operations. Elijah Sawe, Chief Executive Officer of Sakifarm, an avocado grower and exporter, noted that the company relies on multiple Safaricom Business services to enhance efficiency and strengthen relationships with farmers.

“We use at least four Safaricom Business solutions, with bulk SMS being the most critical. It allows us to communicate and make payments to over 300 farmers, processing more than 100 transactions daily during peak season. These solutions have helped us build trust, stay competitive, and reduce operational costs,” Sawe said.

On the CSR front, Nikki Germany, CEO of Moringa School, said the support would help expand access to digital skills training for young people.

“This contribution strengthens our mission to equip youth with market-ready technology skills. It enables us to reach learners who may not otherwise access such programmes. Empowering young people is ultimately an investment in the future of our economy,” she said.

Safaricom Business said enterprises can participate in the promotion by buying, renewing, or reactivating any Safaricom Business service, including voice, internet, cloud, IoT, cybersecurity, or M-PESA for Business. Each qualifying transaction earns one entry into the draw.

The Shangwe @25 promotion runs for eight weeks, with winners announced weekly, and is set to conclude on January 19, 2026.
